ABOUT STREET KID: UPDATE 2022
Flowing out of Brewtown, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, comes this energetic, melodic, hark rock outfit that's a wild time waiting to happen. STREET KID pumps out good old straight forward groove rock, with a frayed blues edge that evokes comparisons with bands such as Aerosmith and Tesla.
They bank on the "what you see is what you get" formula, and don't pull any punches, or use any gimmicks... simply because they don't have to. The band possesses the kind of chemistry that turns an entire club into one big party. The people of Milwaukee are not solely privy to this hard working, blue collar band, as the name has been exploding like a time bomb thanks to Internet Radio.
Back in April of 1991, on the strength of their original material, they were hand selected to be one of only eight bands in the entire Midwest to showcase for National Recording Company A&R reps, record producers, and music publishers in Detroit's famous Alive & Kickin' 1991 Conference. Around the same time, they drew the attention of Philadelphia producer Bill Grabowski (best known for his work with Bon Jovi, including co-writing the song "Secret Dreams" off the band's multi-platinum selling "7800 Fahrenheit" LP.) Grabowski spent a week with the band at Milwaukee's A.D. Studios recording material for submission to Warner Bros, Virgin Entertainment, and Chrysalis Records (among other interested parties). The recording sessions were compiled into a 4-Song EP format, dubbed "The Human Effect." Fast forward to Halloween of 2012, the EP was made available for the first time as a digital-download.
Masters of walking the fine line between aggressive edge and pop accessibility, STREET KID lives for their music without sacrificing their professionalism, integrity and direction. With even more new tracks on the way, and an ever growing, ever widening international audience, thanks to Spotify, Soundcloud and Jango, Milwaukee's STREET KID continues to draw interest and newfound popularity today.
UPDATE: July 2022: Due to increasing popularity for new music, more has been written, recorded and released. One of the LATEST singles since "Don't You Want To Be Free?" is an exciting new track called "Gasoline." Arranged, recorded, and mastered in Nashville. As a special track, of a very different flavor called "24/7" is also available now! More contagious songs yet to come in the Fall of 2022 and Summer of 2023! "In the late 80's there were a lot of new bands in the US playing a sort of typical Mainstream melodic hard rock/party rock sound. Some of them enjoyed a lot of success, but thousands of good quality bands in this genre never made it that big and Street Kid was definitely one of those bands that never reached the big fame of similar bands. Street Kid hailed from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, been together since 1989, recorded some classy slice of melodic hard rock songs and had a good streak going up until 1993, when they decided to try some different things for themselves."
On Halloween of 2012 - STREET KID releases "The Human Effect" for stream/download and discontinues all CD distribution making it a sought after collectors disc, rare among independent release traders world-wide.

STREET KID again teams up with Nashville to give an old live/electric favorite for many a brand new sound and feel. “See It In Your Eyes” offers much deeper textures with a melody you won't be able to forget, combined with subject material that everyone can relate to.
